Write diagrams in the PlantUML language and show them on your Confluence Cloud pages. The official PlantUML engine runs inside Confluence: there is no PlantUML server and your diagram text never leaves your site.
Edit a page, type /plantuml and choose PlantUML diagram. Pick a template or paste your PlantUML, check the live preview and click Save (or press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter). @startuml and @enduml are optional for short snippets.
Everything the PlantUML engine supports, including sequence, class, activity, component, use case, state, object, deployment, timing, entity relationship, mind map, work breakdown, Gantt, JSON and YAML diagrams. The editor has templates for the most common ones.
These standard-library sets work offline inside Confluence with !include <...>: C4 (<C4/C4_Context> and friends), AWS (<awslib14/...>), Azure (<azure/...>), Google Cloud (<gcp/...>), Kubernetes (<kubernetes/...>, <k8s/...>) and ArchiMate (<archimate/...>). All built-in !theme themes work too. Includes of web URLs or other libraries are not loaded, so nothing is fetched from outside Atlassian.
Auto follows the Confluence light or dark setting; Light and Dark force a theme. Align the diagram left or center.
When you save, the rendered diagram is stored with the macro, so pages show it instantly. The engine only loads when you edit, or when a diagram needs a theme that was not stored.
If the PlantUML has a problem, the editor and the page show the message and the line it is on.
The app runs on Atlassian (Forge) with no external servers, analytics or cookies. Your diagrams are stored in the Confluence page. See the privacy policy.
