Points, badges, kudos and leaderboards for Confluence Cloud. People earn points for the pages, blog posts, edits, comments and likes they already create. Nobody has to fill in anything extra.
Coming to the Atlassian Marketplace. Want it on your Confluence site first? Email hello@bizzkitt.ai and we let you know the day it is live.
/leaderboard in the editor to add the top 10 to any page, for example a space homepage.| Activity | Default points | Who gets them |
|---|---|---|
| Create a page | 10 | The author |
| Write a blog post | 10 | The author |
| Edit a page or blog post | 2 | The editor, once per page per day |
| Write a comment | 2 | The author |
| Get a like on a page, blog post or comment | 3 | The author of the liked content (likes on your own content don't count) |
| Receive kudos | 10 | The colleague who gets the kudos |
Drafts don't count, and a like counts once per person and item. By default each activity type earns points up to 25 times per person per day (the daily limit), so nobody can farm points. Activity from before the app was installed doesn't count. Days, weeks (Monday to Sunday), months and years use UTC.
Points usually show up within a minute when someone opens the app, and at the latest within an hour.
Give extra points when a new page or blog post matches a CQL filter, for example label = "how-to" or space = DOCS. The app ships with one rule: How-to articles, +5 for a new page with the label how-to. Admins can add up to 10 rules and check the CQL before saving. Bonus rules are checked about a minute after the page is created, when Confluence search has caught up.

Admins can edit these, remove them or add up to 40 badges. A badge can count points, pages, blog posts, edits, comments, likes received, kudos received, kudos given or matches of a bonus rule. Everyone sees their progress towards each badge.
Levels follow the total points: level 2 starts at 50 points, level 3 at 150, level 4 at 300, level 5 at 500, and so on (level n starts at 25 × n × (n − 1) points).
On the Kudos tab, pick a colleague, write a short thank-you (up to 280 characters) and click Give kudos. The colleague gets points and the kudos appears on the wall of recent kudos. Each person can give 3 kudos per day by default; admins can change this or turn kudos off.
The leaderboard ranks people for today, this week, this month, this year or all time. When an admin picks groups as teams, the leaderboard gets a team ranking and a filter per team.
The app keeps its data in its Forge storage on Atlassian's infrastructure: the Atlassian account IDs of people who take part, their points, counts per activity, badges, their 20 most recent activities (content IDs and kudos or award notes), a daily cached account type and group list, kudos messages (90 days) and your settings. It doesn't store names, email addresses, page titles or page content; titles and names are shown by asking Confluence when you open the app, so people only see titles of pages they can view. Every week the app reports the stored account IDs to Atlassian's personal data reporting and erases the data of closed accounts. Bitwerf runs no servers for this app and cannot see your data. See the privacy policy.
